Designing Cd Digipack

Today we continued with the designing of our cd digipack. We decided to change the font used to make it look more professional, we also chose to make the font black instead of red as black looked better.

For the back cover of our Cd Digipack we decided to use the same style as the words in the music video. we wanted to have Ed Sheerans name across the back cover but then it would not be consistent with the front cover and so we decided to remove it.

Photography

Today we took some photos for the back cover of our cd digipack. We wrote a list of songs and covered the paper with leaves to give the same effect as the words in the music video. 

Designing of Front cover and Cd Digipack

Today we added the images to the front cover of the Cd digipack.
We chose to follow our plan by using a close up shot of Edward. We changed the image to black and white and added an effect to make the shadow stand out more. So far we are unsure about the font used as it does not look like a professional Cd cover although it matches with the house style of the magazine advert and the handwritten elements in the music video.

We have also started to design the magazine advert. This is one of the images we are deciding to use as we are unsure of what image we want to use. We are thinking about not using the font colour red as Edward is wearing a red hoddie and we are not changing the image into black and white. 

Photography

Today we took photos of Edward for our Cd Digipack and Magazine advert. We used a white backdrop as we had planned before because we wanted a white background for our images. We took a variety of shots of Edward showing him sitting , standing or posing. This way we will have more shots to choose from.

Cd Digipack

Today we started designing our CD Digipack. So far we have written out the text for our front cover and back cover. Tomorrow we are going to the studio to take some pictures of Edward so that we would be able to add the images to our work and start of the magazine advert.

Presentation and Feedback of CD Digipack and Magazine Advert

From the feedback our class suggested that the font should change as it wasn’t really a proper handwritten font and so it wouldn't look professional. It was suggested that the font should match the handwriting used in the music video and so I have chosen the font “yummy cupcakes” from Da font.

It was also suggested that instead of a blank pane in the cd digipack maybe a still of the music video should be there instead for example when the words were shown on screen or the swans.  Also I needed to cut down the number of songs as it is only a single album and so only four songs would be shown.

Plan for CD Digipack and Magazine Advert

For our Cd Digipack we used examples from Maverick Sabre album cover and "explosions in the sky" album cover.
On Maverick Sabre album cover a close up shot of his face is used and so we incorprated that idea into our album cover.
For the "Explosions in the sky" album cover a handwritten font was used and so we decied to use a font that looks handwritten so it would seem that the songs were personal to Edward.

So far this week our group have been planning the layout of our CD digipack and Magazine advert. So far we've decided to have the colour scheme red and white.
